Był to okres wczesnego i tandetnego kapitalizmu. To gorący czas łapczywego pochłaniania wszelkich towarów i trendów z Zachodu tak, aby najeść się na zapas, aby nadrobić 50 lat niewoli i braku wyboru. Zamiast octu tony świecidełek, disco zamiast dancingu, okulary słoneczne i złote zegarki z kalkulatorem „Montanna”, które zwiększały szanse mężczyzn u partnerki. Pamiętam, jak wtedy zbierało się papierki od gum do żucia i kolorowe opakowania po batonach, co dzisiaj wydaje się nam być rzeczą totalnie absurdalną i możliwą tylko gdzieś w krajach Trzeciego Świata, gdzie murzyni trzymają kałachy, piją Coca-Colę, nie umieją pisać i nie wiedzą, że ziemia jest okrągła. Tak więc, trochę magiczne w swojej tandecie realia stanowią tło dla bohaterów najnowszej powieści Łukasza Gołębiewskiego ”Disorder i Ja”: dwóch życiowych wagabundów, którzy od nudnego ustatkowania się i zapuszczenia korzeni wolą wieść pełne wrażeń życie z dnia na dzień. Próbują znaleźć równowagę pomiędzy hedonistyczną autodestrukcją na morskich falach beztroski a chwilami trzeźwości w portach należących do systemu, który ich otacza i nolens volens determinuje.
